AION'S MILESTONES

The timing for AION to enter the market has been ideal, backed by the company’s strong growth in its first years of operation. In addition, AION is well positioned to take strategic critical role as a supplier of ESG services, with the implementation of EU’s Taxonomy scope 3 in 2025.

 

  • 2020

    McDonald’s is signed on as the first customer. AION is established and spun out from Aker BioMarine.

  • 2021

    AION expand its operations to customers in Sweden and Denmark, as well as Norway.
     
     

  • 2022

    Ocean 14 Capital invests in AION, helping furthering their goal of investing in green companies working towards SDG14 - Life below water

  • 2023

    Start rolling out the AION Nestable Pallet to the Norwegian Seafood Industry. Further geographical expansion to Romania and the US.

  • 2023

    In 2023, AION further cemented its position as the preferred circular plastic partner, with new commercial customers in multiple sectors, as well as new suppliers established in the EU
     

  • 2025

    AION is strategically positioned for when EU- Taxonomy scope 3 “Other indirect greenhouse gas emissions’ becomes mandatory for large companies in the EU to report under the Coporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The US will follow by 2028.
